He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bus" Hindel and Leona Hindel (Camp); his son John C. Hindel, Jr.; his great grandchild Liam Dawkins; and his brothers, William "Bill" Hindel, Jim Hindel and Robert "Bob" Hindel.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy K. Hindel (Untied); his children, Robert Hindel of Frazeysburg, Vicki Smith (Jeff) of Frazeysburg and Jannette Hindel of Hartford City, Indiana; his grandchildren, Stacey Dawkins (John), Kylie Gaskill (Tyler), Katie Black (Ashton), Sydney Hensley (Nigel), Heather Blatz, Dustin Hindel (Danielle), Meagan Hindel (Jeremy Burns), Dakota Gearhart (Colten) and Kanyon Mohler; and his siblings, Jerry Hindel (Cheryl), David Hindel (Marge), Gene Hindel (Barb), Paul Hindel (Karen), Loretta Boals and Linda Hindel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
