He was predeceased by: his parents, Mills C. Hughes and Eschol Hughes (Eddleman); and his siblings, Loren Hughes and Evelyn Grant. He is survived by: his wife Carole Hughes (Ewers); his children, Christy Dilgard (Jim) of Fredericktown, Jason Hughes (Erin) of Hilliard and Jonathan Hughes (Nikki) of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Daniel, Ellie Dilgard, Hayden, Halle, Ansleigh Hughes, Riley, Lincoln and Landon Hughes; and his sister Janet Johnson of Milltown, Indiana..
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home (201 Newark Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at the Forest Cemetery (241 W Sandusky St, Fredericktown, OH 43019).
