He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Burd and Helen Burd (Scherger); and his brothers, Michael Burd and Steven Burd. He is survived by: his brothers, Robert E. Burd (Nancy) and Gerald L. Burd (Patricia); and his sisters-in-law, Julie Burd and Irene Burd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
