He was predeceased by: his son Mark Mathis; his granddaughter Morgan Mathis; and his siblings, Juanita Leers, James Mathis and Benny Mathis.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Voorhees; his grandchildren, Dustin Schoenfeld (Allison), Melissa Mathis (Jacob Egbert) and Kandis Rich (Michael); and his sisters, Mary Lou Lindsey of Huron, Judy Daugherty of Fremont and Deb Milleson (Bob) of Clyde.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes or the American Heart Associations.
