With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Ameling of Fremont, Ohio, who passed away on April 1, 2026 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis H. Ameling and Yoland M. Ameling (Schneider); her grandparents, William, Virginia Edwards, John and Lillian Ameling; and her brother Jerome Ameling.
She is survived by: her aunt Linda Fitzgerald (Fred) of Clyde; her nieces, Jessica Ameling (Alan Rupp) of Perrysburg and Kristen Robinson (Ray) of Tiffin; her nephew Michael Ameling (Amanda) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; her great-nieces, Evelyn, Emma Rupp, McKenzie, Jordy, Emileigh Robinson, Luna and Quinn Ameling; her great-nephew Anton Rupp; her sister-in-law Lori Ameling of Elmore; her cousin Steve Weiler (Jackie) of Toledo; and her close friend Linda Gegorski.
Memorials in honor of Joan may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bishop Hoffman Catholic School, or Sandusky County Share & Care Center.
