She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Howard Slocum and Dr. Julia Wieters Slocum; and her husband Stewart Elder. She is survived by: her children, Jim of Cairo, Laura (John) of Stowe, John (Holly) of Fremont, Bruce (Karin) of Wynantskill and Ellen (Bill) of Massillon. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory (900 North St, Fremont, OH 43420). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
