He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Mitchell and Barbara Mitchell (Melville); his daughter Amanda Mitchell; and his grandson Foster Twiss. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Twiss (Matthew) and Joseph Mitchell Jr. (Ashley) of LaPorte, TX; his grandchildren, Amberlin, William, Kirsten, Peyton, Wendell, Maverick and Madison; and his siblings, Debra Joiner (Gary) of Sandusky, Tina Schemmer (Gary) of Sandusky, Jeffrey Mitchell and Edward Mitchell of Pasadena, TX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
