He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Smith and Esther Smith (Shaw); his wife Loma Smith (Welch); and his brother Nelson Smith Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Lew Ray Smith of Alabama, Clint Smith (Teri) of Attica, OH, Harold Smith of Greenwich, OH, Shane Smith (Earlene) of Clyde, OH and Bennie Smith of Fremont; his stepchildren, David E. Evans, Jr. (Wendy) of Findlay, OH, James A. Evans (Deanna) of Bellevue and Connie Sue Seamon (John) of Fremont; and his niece Melody Holcomb. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
