Tomas L. Garza Jr. Obituary
We announce the death of Tomas L. Garza Jr. (Fremont, Ohio), who passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 93. Tomas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Garza Sr. and Josefina Longoria; his wife Hortencia Garza (Rodriguez); his son-in-law Adan Garza; his granddaughter Cynthia Garza; and his siblings, Amelia Gonzales, Gilbert Garza, Merced Garza and Josefina Gomez.
He is survived by: his children, Norma Garza, Raul Garza (Silvia), Gloria Mendoza and Tomas Lopez (Erica); his siblings, Roberto Garza, Olga Benavidez and Hilda Gonzales; and his close friend Juanita Benitez. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory (900 North St, Fremont, OH 43420). A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH 43420).
Memorials in honor of Tomas may be made to the family, care of Gloria Mendoza.
