He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hicks and Gladys Hicks (Setzer); his wife E. Marleen Hicks (Sharples); his daughter Becky Matchett; his grandson Michael J. Dean; and his siblings, Forrest Hicks (Mary), Amy Haynes (James), Earnestine Miller (Roger), Helen Moody (Dan), Pete Hicks (Marjene), Ed Honabarger, Richard Lautenschleger and Marie Hicks.
He is survived by: his daughter Diane Dean (Tom) of Fresno; his son-in-law John Matchett of West Lafayette; his grandson Wade Matchett; his great grandchild Madison Dean (Tanabat); his great great grandchild Momo; his granddaughter Heather Maust (Tom); his great grandchildren, Zack and Hanna; his granddaughter-in-law Missy Dean; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Tyler and Chelsea; and his siblings, Roby Hicks (Ruth), Faye Honabarger, Tom Hicks (Beverly) and Louise Lautenschleger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (639 Main St, Coshocton, OH 43812). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
