He is survived by: his wife Rosie Bates (Moore); his daughters, Lela Higgins (Edward), Shawna Bates-Mozzota and Crystal Campbell (Chris); his grandchildren, Justin Higgins (Brandi), Dlyan Bates and Cecila Campbell; his great grandchild Bella Higgins; his siblings, Arthur "Ray" Bates and Rhonda Slone (Lloyd); and his brother-in-law Danny Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephew.
