She was predeceased by: her husband David L. Smithey; her son Scott Smithey; her parents, Wilma Kagley and A. R. Olive; and her siblings, Harold Olive and Ann Olive.
She is survived by: her son David A. Smithey (Lillian) of LaGrange, Ohio; her granddaughter Olivia Smithey of Highland Heights, Ohio; and her stepgrandson Aaron Doezema of LaGrange, Ohio. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Dorothy's honor.
