He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth L. Swain and Faith B. Swain (Mackey); his son David Swain; and his siblings, John, Richard Swain, Catherine Easterday (Dennis) and Bonnie Anschutz (Adam).

He is survived by : his wife Helen Swain (Patton); his grandchildren, Nicholas and Tavia Swain; his great grandchildren, Malik, Zavon Mills and Janai Troutman; his sister Karen Lightfoot (Paul); and his sisters-in-law, Jo Swain and Corkey Swain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail in care of the funeral home.
