He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Adkins and Velda Adkins; his wife Mary Adkins (Bowman); and his siblings, Avis Stallard, Olvie Britton and Dennis Adkins.
He is survived by: his sons, Phillip Adkins, Daniel Adkins and Joel Adkins (Melissa); and his siblings, Reneda Rush and Ezra Adkins. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
