He was predeceased by: his father James W. McKinstry of Shelby Ohio; his wife Marjorie Haner; his sisters, Katherine Turner and Cynthia Shaffer; his son Larry McKinstry; and his stepson-in-law Allen Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Jerri Ripplinger of Galion Ohio and Michael McKinstry (Larry McKinstry) of Midland Texas; his grandchildren, Desiree Terry (Kenneth), Jordan Ripplinger (Jennie) and Samantha Sawyer (Brett); his great grandchildren, Micaela Fernandez of Midland Texas, Nevaeh Terry of Midland Texas, Zayden Terry of Midland Texas, Cash Strickland of Midland Texas and Cody Turnbow of Midland Texas; his stepdaughters, Lisa Miller of Galion Ohio and Lori Reed of Galion Ohio; and his stepgrandchildren, Chad Clinger (Jill Ann) of Ashland Ohio, Tiffany Miller of Galion Ohio, Cody St. Myer of Galion Ohio, Brittany Patchett (Spencer) of Upper Sandusky, C. J. Gettys of Tokyo Japan and Logan Reed of Galion Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
