He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Deffendoll and Mildred E. Deffendoll (Brockelsby); his son Robert James Deffendoll; and his sisters, Mildred Joan Smorick, Marilyn Jean Pittenger and Diana Lynn Borders.
He is survived by: his wife Jeraldine K. Deffendoll (Morrison); his sons, Randy L. Deffendoll of Marion and Rodney E. Deffendoll of Galion; and his stepdaughter Vonda M. Metheney of Galion. He is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
