He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustave Albert Wenninger Sr. and Lena Wenninger (Dexter); his wife Bertha Ann Wenninger (Fetter); his son James William Wenninger; and his siblings, Rosie Lehman, Eleanor Beck, Gustave "Gus" Wenninger Jr. and Darrell Wenninger.

He is survived by: his children, Ronald Wenninger Jr. (Donna) of Tiro, Rick Wenninger (Shirley) of Port Clinton, Terry Wenninger (Anita) of New Washington, Diana (Randy Toth) of Crestline and Darla Phillips (Leonard) of Tiro. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
