She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert J. Buchanan and Beatrice J. Thompson Buchanan; her husband Gerald A. "Jerry" Powers; and her brothers, John Buchanan and David Buchanan.
She is survived by: her children, Stephanie Caiazzo (Jason Arthur) of Cheshire, Jessica Powers of Arkansas and Stephen Powers of Maine; her grandchildren, Deanna Roberts (Adam), J. D. Maggard, Samuel Maggard (Catherin), Jerry Powers (Kylie), Shannon Holland (Garland), Philip Riley (Jessica), Zachary Simmons (Jessica), Aaron Bridges (Jocelyn), Anthony Powers and Cynthia Martin (Ken); and her siblings, Mary May of Bainbridge, Cathi Howes of Ohio and James Buchanan (Diana) of Chillicothe, Ohio. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Chris was an active knitter and crocheter who donated her work to charity.
