It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Mahan (Gallipolis, Ohio), born in Patriot, Ohio, who passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Mahan and Mabel Allbright Mahan; his spouse Shirley Ann Thorndyke; his sisters, Mary Crews and Edna Tawney; and his brothers-in-law, Bobby Crews and Lawrence Tawney.
He is survived by: his sons, Samuel of Gallipolis and Earl (Venus) of San Diego, California; his nephew Mike Tawney; his niece Lisa Tawney (Clark) of Gallipolis; and his close friends, Eric, Wendy, Cody (Taylor) and Colton Russell. He is also survived by several great nephews, and great nieces.
