He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Trout and Ruby Carter Trout; his wife Barbara Donna Thompson Trout; and his siblings, Sharon Trout, James Trout (Jeannie), Ronald Trout, Roger Dean Trout, Raymond Jr. Trout (Beverly) and Harold Trout.

He is survived by: his children, Sandy Ross of Gallipolis, Lori Bochard of Vinton, Holly Wolford (Virgil) of Gallipolis and Brandy Johnson (Jason) of Gallipolis; his grandchildren, Dalton Banks, Ciara Ross, Brittany Bochard, Sarah Doolittle, Dakota Ward, Joseph Hubman, Jordan Johnson, Jeremy Johnson (Rachael) and Jasper Johnson; his great grandchildren, Case, Remi Doolittle and Eevee; his brother Mike Trout (Mary); and his sisters-in-law, Hettie Trout and Ellie Trout.
