Cristobal L. Laboy Obituary
Cristobal L. "Cris" Laboy, Jr., 40, of Geneva, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
He was born December 7, 1983, in Ashtabula, the son of Cristobal L. Laboy, Sr. and Betty (Hall) Dimare. A lifelong area resident. Cris graduated from Geneva High School Class of 2002. After graduation he attended A-Tech with a focus on auto mechanics. Working 3 Job's, Cris did have many goals in his life until he was struck with mental illness.
Cris really enjoyed songwriting. His dream was to be a song writer and hit the big money so he could do many wonders and move to Puerto Rico and purchase a farm and write music. He would take care of his parents & his family, he would always say, "When I get that big deal mom you will never have to work ever again.". He was always looking out for his parents and his family, even in his sickness.
He was the best son, brother, friend, the kindest soul, a pure heart that only comes from Heaven. He enjoyed those sunny days' always working out, hanging out at the Beach. He would always give to the homeless, he would stop and hand them whatever he had, it was not much but the Heart was Big! Cris helped his stepdad with yard work or whatever his parents needed. Cris was always willing to help with all he could.
Such a kind heart and soul. Then Cris became so ill and was stuck in another world that no one could understand. It is called Mental Illness with Deep Depression. Cris lived in battles every single day of his life. These past few years were the worse to where he just said, "I AM DONE!".
Cris is now free of sickness, free from the fear of rejection, free of addiction, free of the Daily battles of his past!!! Cris is FREE, he will no longer be in fear. Cris is and will forever be LOVED and missed by his parents and all his family and friends!!!
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Betty (Hall) (Richard) DiMare of Ashtabula; father, Cristobal (Ana Maria Figueroa) Laboy, Sr. of Maunabo, PR; brothers, Manuel "Pete" (Krissy Blankenship) Hall, and Emiliano E.
