She was predeceased by: her husband Henry; her parents, Elizabeth Lee and Robert Lee; and her brother Robert Lee, Jr.. She is survived by: her brother Charles Lee (Mary Lee) of Lexington, NC; her children, Henry Jernigan (Linda) of Roanoke, VA and Reverend Linda Reichenbecher (Margaret) of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Thomas Jernigan (Maki) of Panama City, FL, Sarah Tompkins (Rob) of Roanoke, VA, Jennifer Ellis (Brian) of Louisville, KY and Rebecca Smither (Alex) of Louisville, KY; and her great grandchildren, Ansley Tompkins, Scarlett Jernigan, Elizabeth and Abigail Smither. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be sent in Betty's memory to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
