He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: William Walter Clapsaddle and Louie May Stevens Clapsaddle Smith; siblings: Fred, Fay, William Jr., Gene, Jack, Lilly "Sis" Schwamberger, Elmo and Lou; companion: Marilyn Diefenthaler Clapsaddle; children: David (Rachel) and Denise (David Sousa); grandchildren: Kathryn (Bradley Matson), Christine, Charles, Jonathan Clapsaddle, Anatoly "Zeus" Sousa and Lidia Sousa (Dylan Waite); great-grandchildren: Lilly Sousa, Elena Sousa, Sophia Faganand, Adaline Faganand, Ezra Waite and Quinton Waite; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Freck Funeral Chapel (1155 S Wynn Rd, Oregon, OH 43616). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Riverview Memory Gardens (29231 County Rd 424, Defiance, OH 43512).
