He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Richards and Eleanor Hanely Richards; and his sister Nancy Richards Bedsole (Steve). He is survived by: his sisters, Marcia Richards Payne (George) and Susan Richards Alt; his cousin Lynn Updegraff Moore (Douglas); and his nieces and nephews, Frederick Payne (Karyn), John Payne (Anelise), Samuel Bedsole, Staci Bedsole Treece (Josh), Benjamin Alt (April), James Alt (Whitney) and Katherine Alt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Genoa Branch Library.
