He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ramon Cavazos and Maria P. Cavazos of Harlingen, Texas; his wife Norma Vallejo of Gibsonburg; his son Robby Vela (Kelsey) of Perrysburg; his granddaughter Lucie; his siblings, Mary Mora (Ruben) of Texas, Alphie Cosby-Vass of Nevada, Ramon Vela of Texas, Rudy Vela of Texas and Richie Vela of Texas; and his siblings-in-law, Toby Vallejo (Sandra) and Ana Rosenberger (Ed).

Memorial donations in Robert's name may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church.
