It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Lauretta DeFuria (Girard, Ohio), who passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francesco Castrucci and Filomena Casasanta Castrucci; her sisters, Ida Ambrosini and Alfa Sefcik; her son-in-law Bruce Gething; and her granddaughter Sarah Gething.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph C. DeFuria; her children, Deborah Maloney (Terry) of Boardman, Angela Gething of Brookfield, Doreen Cogar (Jim) of Canfield, Joseph DeFuria Jr. (Tammy) of Hiram and Dennis DeFuria (Joielle) of Canfield; and her grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Joseph, Tara, Megan, Brian, Katie, James, Erica, Philip, Liana, Mariah, Miranda, Michelle, Marcus and Caitlin. She is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
