He is survived by: his fiancée Lori Strausbaugh of The Plains; his children, Erik "Bubba" Bateman (Brianna) of Canaanville, Dale Canter of Athens, Tyler Canter of Athens, Emily "Alexis" Bateman (Jan Loudermilk) of Glouster, Amanda Moore (Nathan) of Chauncey and Shannon Dickens of The Plains; his grandchildren, Kenzie Gambill (Kacey Davis), Andrea Erwin, Austin Whitlatch (Christen), Chelsea Erwin (Chase Wooten), Jakob Moore, Kimberly, Gabe and Sawyer Erwin; his great grandchildren, Mason Davis, Waylen Russell and Logan Whitlatch; his siblings, Gene Bateman (Betsy) of Millfield, George Bateman (Peggy) of Millfield and Jane Barnhart of Chauncey; and the mother of his children Johna Benjamin of Columbus. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
