He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gerstner and Ethel Gerstner (Pellman); his brother Charlie (Terri); and his sisters-in-law, Rosemary Bruns (Al) and Agnes Kessen.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Gerstner (Kessen); his children, Ed Gerstner (Tracey), Annette Wassler (Dave), Dan Gerstner (Susan) and Mark Gerstner (Debbie); his grandchildren, Megan, Ellen, Alden, Trevor, David (Wassler), Alison, Samantha (Wassler), Devin, Jackson (Wassler), Eddie, Joey (Wassler), Jacob (Wassler) and Josh (Wassler); his siblings, Rosemary Danner (Dave) and Tony Gerstner (Maryruth); and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Stenger (Tom), Kathy Huber (Tom) and Martha Kessen. He is also survived by his family and friends.
