In loving memory of Melinda J. Collett of Green, Ohio, who departed this world on November 20, 2025 at the age of 72. Melinda leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wallace Brain and Helen Brain; her husband Jon Collett; her children, Sara Sehm (Joe), John Collett (Rachel) and Amy Joyce (Brandon); her grandchildren, Ben, Wyatt Sehm, Lennon, Corbin Joyce, Elaina and Miles Collett; her brothers, Thomas Brain (Jan) and Jeffrey Brain (Debbie); her in-laws, Lynette Collett, Kathy, Sam Subity and Janis Lepley; her cousin Debbie Dionne (Mike); and her pet Zoey. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schermesser Eberhardt Funeral Home (600 East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, OH 44319). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Blessings in a Backpack, Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center, or the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Fund.

“Melinda loved everyone and everyone loved Melinda--especially her family and many friends. I feel blessed to have had the pleasure of working with Melinda for over a decade in the Green Schools Curriculum Office. She was always kind, faith-filled, joyful, and hardworking. She loved her husband dearly and her kids and grandkids were her pride and joy. She will leave a void in the hearts of everyone who loved her. My prayers are with her family as they mourn the loss of someone so precious.”
