He was predeceased by: his parent Orist Joseph; his parents-in-law, Wilbur and Esther Oswalt; his brother Jay Hess; his son Troy Joseph Hess; his nephew Jason Hess; and his brothers-in-law, Rex Whitmer, Doug Bender and Larry Arnett.
He is survived by: his wife Barb Hess (Oswalt); his children, Brian Hess and Stephanie Adkins (Ted); his grandson Mason Adkins; his siblings, Barbara Whitmer, Judy Gainey (Ken), Tom Hess (Jeanne), Roger Hess (Ilene) and Herb Hess; his sister-in-law Linda Arnett; and his close friend Pete Dietrich. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kreitzer Funeral Home (204 N Main St, Arcanum, OH 45304). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
