He was predeceased by: his parents, Madison Hicks and Eva Hicks; his children, Sara Hicks and Steven Hicks; his sisters, Wanda and Lois Hicks; and his grandson Jordan Hicks.

He is survived by: his wife Cora "Frances" Hicks; his son Kevin Hicks of Greenwich; his great grandchild Johnathon Barnett of Greenwich; his daughter-in-law LaDonna Hicks (Oney) of Clyde; his grandchildren, Emily Logan (Caleb) of Clyde, Ian Hicks of Shelby and Corie Hicks (Justin Barnett) of Willard; his great grandchildren, Ayva, Quentyn, Bailey Hicks of Clyde, Hunter Fortune, Treyvon Isaac of Norwalk, Cameron, Colton Logan of Clyde and Eleanor Barnett of Willard; and his sister Jeanette Hamilton (Robert) of Greenwich. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
