He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Sanders and Mary Lorraine Sanders Pettit (Tomkins); his stepfather Ralph Pettit; and his in-laws, Ellen and Larry Shull.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Sanders (Schlenbaker); his children, Shellie Allen (Mike) of Greenwich and Mikey Sanders (April) of Willard; his grandchildren, Ashlee Phillips (Josh), Madee Allen (Curtis Fredericks), Kelsee Sanders, Kalyssa Peters (Mason) and Kaleb Sanders; his great grandchildren, Ember, Harlee, Wyatt, Zaydee, Phoenix, Stormee, Cade and Amelia; his brother Carl Pettit (Jeanne) of Norwalk; and his brothers-in-law, Dann Schlenbaker and Bobby Schlenbaker (Vera). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
