She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Samuel Dirmeyer and Virginia Dirmeyer of Akron; her spouse Thomas Hartranft; her children, Scott and Meghan; her grandchildren, Talley, Ethan and Emma; and her brother Major John Dirmeyr.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Janet's name to the Bellefontaine Grace Church, 2220 S Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
