He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chapman and Oretta Chapman; his son Rocky Chapman; his wife Virgie; his siblings, Eugene, James, Robert, Sherman and Irene; his stepdaughter Janice; and his granddaughter Nicki.

He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl White (Kenneth); his stepchildren, Larry, Steve and Patricia; and his siblings, Bill, Leo, Sally and Sherley. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
