He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lowry and Helen Lowry (Reynolds). He is survived by: his friend Joe Clark; his wife Nancy Lowry; his daughters, Joanna Lowry and Megan Reed (Brian); his grandchildren, Hazel, Arabelle and Stella; his siblings, James Cole (Ada), Parthina Davis (Russell), Brenda Frazier, Orvetta Brantley (Robert) and Ronald Stringer; his close friend Rufus Phillips; his mother-in-law Joan Wright; and his siblings, James Butler, Gilford Lowry, Fred Lowry and Helen Davis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Memorial contribution in Ernest' honor may be gifted to the Hamilton Christian Center.
