He was predeceased by: his father George; his wife Sue Gilmore Spears; his son James Spears; and his siblings, William Spears, Bill Gilmore and Darlene Dasch.
He is survived by: his children, Beth Ramsey (Mike), Jeffrey Spears (Cindy) and Robert Spears (Christine); and his brother John Spears. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Five great grandchildren.
