He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Edward Schutter and Margaret Lillian Schutter (Conroy); his son Philip Schutter; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Schutter and Helen Rae Quast.
He is survived by: his wife Betsy Schutter; his children, Mark Schutter (Maureen), Mary Beth Schutter, Michael Schutter (Lynne), Richard Schutter (Tricia) and Sarah McMillan (Scott); his grandchildren, Patricia, Erin, Maggie, Alex, Brian, Kathryn, Samantha, Molly, Emma, Mallory and Brynn; and his sister Mary Lou Kopmeyer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
