She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Gilliam and Beatrice Gilliam (Williams); her husband Robert Shurl Stapleton; and her sisters, Virginia Mondella Bradley, Geneva Smith and Poncella Collier.
She is survived by: her children, Marcia Snively and Michael Stapleton (Kathy); her great grandchildren, William, Matthew and Finnick; her sister Avanell Robbins; and her brothers-in-law, Paul Stapleton and William Stapleton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
