He was predeceased by: his mother Ada Chestine Riley; and his stepmother Kathryn Hopkins. He is survived by: his father Donald Hopkins; his children, Brianna, Kaylee, Jalynn, Alyssa and Malachi Jr.; his siblings, DeeDee Ollis (Mike) and Erik Estes (Reeva); his stepbrother Willie Hoskins (Rachel); and his nieces and nephews, Sidney, Lindsey, Ashley, Alisha, Cooper and Michael. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
