He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Coombs and Anna Mae Coombs (Lenck); his wife Betty Lou Amelia Thomas; and his brothers, Bill and Jack Coombs.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Coombs (Lynda), Teresa Oder (Chip) and Kathy Alexander (Jeff); his grandchildren, Ameila Oberschlake (Cody), Gabrielle Kidd (Cory), Molly Hostetler (Travis) and Brenton Whitaker; and his great grandchildren, Xander Oberschlake, Riley Hostetler and Colin Kidd. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Shriner's Hospital.
