She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Arie D. Verhagen; her parents, Paul and Marie (Meier); and her brother Henk. She is survived by: her children, Paul Verhagen (Mary Sue), Corina Shafer (Gary) and Mark Verhagen (Rebecca); and her grandchildren, Cheran Sorensen, Taylor Sorensen (Whitney), Trent Sorensen (Annie), Garrett Verhagen (Heather), Lydia Honken (Peter), Tyler Verhagen, Koert Verhagen (Diana), Joel Verhagen (Anna), Luke Verhagen (Molly), Linnea Rico (Ben) and Katy Wilson (Vince). She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.

The family requests that no flowers be sent. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Community Church and Community First Employee Emergency Fund.
