He was predeceased by: his wife Amy Childress; his grandchild Connon Cox; and his brother-in-law William Ray. He is survived by: his children, Heather Griffin (James), Heath Childress (Stephanie), Holli Cox (Ricky), Heidi Thompson (Hunter) and Shanea Allen (Nolan); his grandchildren, Jami Childress (Iadora), Jodi Childress, Ethan Griffin, Aiden Griffin, Carter Griffin, Josh Watts of Kylie Childress, J. T, Kyrah Cox, Kendall Cox, Cannon Bergeron and Lainey Childress; his great grandchildren, Kenzley Allen, Kailey Allen, Kaislee Hodge and Koy Allen; his siblings, Ronnie Childress (Sharon), Linda Barnett (Tim), Sherry Childress, Lola McCarty (Jim), Charlie Garner, Billy Garner and J. R. Childress (Tonya); and his sister-in-law Lisa Ridener (Darwin).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home (10385 New Haven Rd, Harrison, OH 45030). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Miamitown Cemetery.
