She was predeceased by: her parents, John L. Rutan and Carrie Bonar Rutan; her husband George Clayton "Ike" Shields, Jr.; and her siblings, Glenn Rutan (Ester) and Ruth Powell (Harry).
She is survived by: her children, Glenn William Shields (Karen) of Sunrise Beach, MO, Ruth Ellen Phillips (George) of Hilliard, OH and Janell Mae Lengyel (Tom) of Mt. Pleasant, OH; her grandchildren, LaRae Karlenn Smedley (Shawn) of Eureka, MO and Grant McQuain Shields (Casey) of Lee's Summit, MO; and her great grandchildren, Colten Shields, Jaelyn Shields, Tyler Smedley, Alex Smedley and Tonya.
