Edith M. Bednar Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edith M. Bednar in Hartville, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 25, 2025 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edith M. Bednar to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eldon Vandegrift and Florence Vandegrift. She is survived by: her children, Cindy Shaffer (Rodney), Richard Bednar (Tina) and JoAnna Rolenz (Michael Kinser); her brother Clair Vandegrift (Mary); and her sisters-in-law, Carolina, Carol and Annette Vandegrift. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home (547 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Suffield United Church of Christ (1115 OH-43, Mogadore, OH 44260). A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at the Hillside Cemetery (3636 Waterloo Rd, Randolph, OH 44265).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Edith's memory to the Suffield United Church of Christ which was close to her heart.
