He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry J. Johnston and Victoria E. Johnston (Napier); and his in-laws, Desley and Pluma Bentley (Smallwood). He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, Gary E. Johnston (Tina) of Creola, David A. Johnston of Bremen and John D. Johnston (Christine) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Brittany, Jessica, Chelsey, Ariel, Natasha, Courtney, Nathan, Sheila, Dillon, Carsten, Autumn and Tyler; and his great grandchildren, Aryss, Kayleigh, Thomas, Shawn, David, Braydon, Jaxon, Arabella, Phoenix, Austin, Kingston, Gunner and Brynleigh.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home (201 W High St, McArthur, OH 45651). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home (201 W High St, McArthur, OH 45651). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the Elk Cemetery (32121 OH-93, McArthur, OH 45651).
