He was predeceased by: his parents, James DeVault and Ethel DeVault (Sprouse); his son Dana Rader; his stepson Kevin Cade; and his siblings, Ethel Labora, Mary Myers and Jim DeVault.
He is survived by: his wife Linda L. DeVault (Hensley); his sons, Dale Rader (Dawn), Mike Adams (Terry) and John Paul DeVault (Brea); his nephew Tom Turner (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Lauren, Josh, Bryant and Ayla; his sisters, Norma Turner Durtschi and Barbara Bell; his brother-in-law Cloyce Myers; and his niece Trina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
