He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Werder and Irene Werder (Smith); his wife Dorothy L. "Dottie" Burns; his son DeVonn; and his siblings, Richard Werder, Carolyn Nofziger and Stanley Werder.
He is survived by: his daughter Denise Sutter (Vince) of Spencerville, Indiana; his granddaughter Lindsey Moore (James) of Auburn, Indiana; and his great grandchild Vire Moore.
