He is survived by: his children, James Adams (Sarah) of College Station, Paula Campbell (Rusty) of Edgerton, Jackie Adams of Waxhaw, Christina Morris (David) of Florida, Jessica Kues (Joseph) of Wilder, Rebecca Pocratsky (Matthew) of Fort Wayne and Joseph Adams IV (Theresa) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Addy, Avery, Alannah, Noah, Jacoby, Donavan, Steven, Kian, Ainsley, Trinity, Theresa, Eden, Elizabeth, Lawrence, Dori, Evelyn, Simon, Xavier, Vincent, Belle, James, Gianna, Saoirse and Peter; and his siblings, Helen Keane (Joseph), Mary Ann Breininger, Victor Adams (Linda) and Carl Adams (Kathy).
