He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnet Boerner and Martin Boerner; his brothers, David Boerner and Paul Boerner; and his nephews, Eric Boerner, Gary Brown, Dan Brown and DJ Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon E. Boerner; his children, Kevin Boerner (Shellie), Laura Smith (Jon) and Jeanette Ueberroth (David); his brother-in-law Dean Brown (Linda); his grandchildren, Corinne Smith, Hayes Smith, Garret Ueberroth, Emily Styer-Reebel (Drake) and Shawn Pugin; his great grandchild Jack Reebel; and his nieces and nephews, Troy Boerner, Trent Boerner (Lisa), Averie Boerner, Joni Adkins, Lisa Niles, Tami Brown (Gary), Jessie Brown, Mandie Brown, Chris Brown (Lauren), CJ Brown, Carlee Brown and Laila Brown.
