He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Sr. Matthews and Thelma Matthews; his brother Carl "Tony" Matthews; his granddaughter Katelyn; and his sister-in-law Vonda Slone Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Liz; his children, Kelly Sayre (Rick), Francis Matthews III (Beth), Perry Matthews (Pam) and Christina White (Kenny); and his siblings, Dorothy Bishop (Jim), David Matthews, Sue Matthews and Patty Matthews. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to either the James Cancer Hospital or the Lymphoma Leukemia Society.
